Our Story
Inspired by a little Chihuahua.
Created with a whole lot of love.
Hi, I'm Mahsa, the founder of Hapoo, and this is how our little story began.
Growing up in Iran, I always dreamed of having a pet of my own. Although that dream never quite came true, animals had a special place in my heart.
I had a particular soft spot for the stray cats and dogs living on the streets. So many of them faced hardship, neglect and mistreatment, and I always wished I could do more to help. I also adored my friends' pets and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.
Then, one day, a tiny blue-eyed Chihuahua named Monty came into my life.
Monty was a little girl who stayed with me for just one week, but she completely stole my heart.
She was my first real experience of caring for a pet, and in those few days, she filled my world with so much happiness. I still remember her tiny paws, her sweet little face, the funny moments, and how quickly she became part of my heart.
Saying goodbye to Monty was heartbreaking. I never saw her again, but the love she brought into my life stayed with me.
Over the following years, that love grew into a deeper commitment to animal welfare. I spent six years as a vegetarian and did whatever I could to support animals in need.
When I moved to Australia, I decided to turn that lifelong love into something meaningful.
And that's how Hapoo began.
More Than Just a Pet Toy
I've always loved giving gifts.
Whenever I visited friends, especially those with pets, I wanted to bring something special for their furry family members too.
But I often wished there was somewhere I could find adorable pet gifts, beautifully wrapped and ready to give, without having to visit several shops to put everything together myself.
I wanted pet parents to experience the same joy that families feel when choosing presents for their children.
Because to so many of us, pets aren't just animals. They're our babies, our companions, and beloved members of the family.
So I created Hapoo to make gifting to pets just as thoughtful, exciting and special.
Why Hapoo?
In Persian, Hapoo is a cute, affectionate word for a puppy.
It felt like the perfect name for something built around love, playfulness and the little moments of happiness our pets bring into our lives.
At Hapoo, we bring together adorable pet toys, thoughtful gift-ready packaging and little surprises that make every order feel special.
From playful burgers and ice creams to sweet little cat toys, we want every package to bring a smile to the person opening it and excitement to the furry friend waiting beside them.
Because the joy isn't just in the toy.
It's in the love behind the gift.
A Little Brand With a Big Dream
Hapoo was born in Australia, but its roots will always be connected to Iran and the animals that first inspired my love.
My dream is to grow Hapoo into an Australian-Iranian pet gifting brand, celebrating birthdays, adoption anniversaries, holidays and all the special milestones we share with our pets.
But my hopes go far beyond toys and gifts.
One day, I dream of helping establish professional animal shelters and high-quality, affordable veterinary hospitals in both Australia and Iran, and supporting the incredible people who dedicate their lives to helping animals in need.
Hapoo is still at the beginning of its journey, but every big dream has to start somewhere.
And mine started with a little Chihuahua named Monty.
Because every animal deserves love, kindness and a little extra happiness.
